Our promise
Noor is a free, ad-free service built for the ummah. We do not show ads, we do not sell or share your personal data with advertisers or data brokers, and we collect only what is needed to make the tools work.
What works without any data
Every tool on Noor — prayer times, Quran reader, Qibla finder, Ramadan tools, Islamic calendar, duas, tasbih and the Zakat calculator — works without an account. Your prayer check-ins, streaks, fasting days and tasbih counts are stored only in your browser's local storage on your device unless you sign in. If you use the location button, your coordinates are used on your device to find the nearest city and are not sent to our servers.
Data we store if you create an account
Creating an account is optional. If you do, we store your name, email address, phone number, optional country, a securely hashed password (never the password itself), and your prayer check-in dates so they can sync across your devices. We use this data only to provide the account and sync features — never for marketing without your consent.
Sign in with Google
If you choose "Continue with Google", Google shares your name and email address with us to create or sign in to your account. We do not receive your Google password and we request no other Google data. Use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Cookies
We use a single, essential session cookie to keep you signed in to your account. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Third-party content
Quran text and translations are fetched from the public Quran API, and recitation audio streams from the Islamic Network CDN. When your browser loads this content, those services receive standard request information such as your IP address, as with any website resource.
Data retention and deletion
Account data is kept while your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time by contacting us through the contact page — we process deletion requests promptly. Local data on your device can be removed by clearing your browser storage.
Security
All traffic is encrypted with HTTPS. Passwords are hashed with a modern key-derivation function, and sessions are signed to prevent tampering.
Children
Noor does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update this page and the date below. Continued use of Noor after changes means you accept the updated policy.
